Fake Sugar Increases Blood Sugar

Contrary to popular belief, new studies show that artificial sweeteners may actually raise blood sugar levels rather than reduce them. Fake sweeteners such as saccharin, sucralose, and aspartame can alter the bacteria that live in the gut and trigger detrimental changes such as higher blood sugar levels.

The solution: stick to minimally-processed foods. For example, substitute herbal teas, perhaps even adding a little raw honey, for diet sodas.
